INSURANCE

I am an in-network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Optum, and United. If you are using one of these provider’s plans, your insurance will be billed for each session and you will be responsible for paying your copay/co-insurance and meeting any deductible limit for your plan. Commonly, your deductible will reset to zero in January, so please check in with your insurance provider if you have questions about your payment responsibility.

For all other health insurances, I am considered an out-of-network provider. This means you will pay the full session fee at the time of your appointment and I will provide you with a monthly invoice (also called a Superbill) if you would like to apply for possible reimbursement from your insurance company.

It is your responsibility to be knowledgeable and up-to-date on all of your health insurance benefits. I recommend you call the number on the back of your insurance card before scheduling an appointment and ask about your mental health benefits. Some questions to ask your insurance company when you call:

  • Do I have mental health benefits?

  • Do I have a deductible and has it been met for the year?

  • How many sessions per year does insurance cover?

  • How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network provider?

  • What is the amount my plan covers for each session?

  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?

self-pay rates

For those who do not wish to use insurance, or are using out-of-pocket insurance benefits, the following self-pay rates are in place:

Individual sessions: $165 for 50 minutes

Family sessions: $225 for 50 minutes

Pet loss group: $350 for 6 sessions, 75 minutes each

SLIDING SCALE

In an effort to make therapy more accessible for those who do not have the financial resources or out-of-network benefits, I offer a few sliding scale appointment slots. Please contact me for a free 15 minute phone consultation to see if any of these sliding scale spots are currently available, and discuss cost.

NO SHOW/LATE CANCELLATION POLICY

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, I ask that you call with AT LEAST 24 hours notice prior to your appointment. If you cancel with less than 24hrs notice or do not show up for your appointment, your standard session fee will be charged.

This policy is in place because when I schedule an appointment with you, I reserve that time specifically for us, and I cannot offer it to anyone else. Canceling on short notice does not allow me enough time to offer that time slot to someone else.

Things happen. Emergencies happen. If you are sick or have an emergency (weather-related or otherwise), you will not be charged the fee. Also, if you would like to reschedule your appointment for another time during the week AND I also have a time slot available, I will waive the fee.
